Creepy Crawlies Visit
Michael Gove the shadow Children, Schools and Families Minister was in North Yorkshire on Tuesday to launch the Conservative Party’s manifesto for the County Council Election. However, before he had to head back to
London for an Education debate, Michael accompanied me on a visit to Creepy Crawlies adventure play park on Wigginton Road where we met with the owner and members of the Play Providers Association to discuss issues that they are facing within the industry at the moment.
This is a fantastic facility for children which enables them to play and learn at the same time. I have taken my children there on a number of occasions and would recommend anyone with children or grandchildren to give it a try.

Hi Julian,
I would just like to thank you and Michael Gove for sparing the time to come to talk to the Play Providers Association committee at Creepy Crawlies. I was greatly impressed by the questions and interest showed, and being a low key visit the aim was not for publicity.
We have been to Westminister many times and attempted to open discussions with the opposition to realise the value of indoor play for families, and the role in helping to tackle childhood obesity. We have met with many empty promises. Michael and yourself seemed to really understand where we added to the enrichment of local children’s lives, and how it is not all about outdoor play! I know many play sites are struggling at the minute, and hope that the Government wakes up to the fact that we deserve recognition, and perhaps financial assistance with offering play vouchers for children?
Once again, great to be noticed!
many thanks,
Janice Dunphy
